ProsoEcho is made by Smaga Bakery Ltd (Smaga Bakery, UK company no. 08504761). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: ProsoEcho collects nothing about you. There is no account, no server we run, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.
What ProsoEcho stores, and where
- Your voice recordings (“takes”). When you tap record, ProsoEcho captures audio through the microphone so you can play it back and compare it with the reference voice. Recordings are stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they also sync to your own private iCloud so they appear on your other devices. They are never sent to us or to any third party.
- Your text and practice data. The lines you type, paste, import, or capture with the share sheet - along with their attributions, optional source link, categories, groups, tags, and your session and take metadata - are stored on your device using Apple’s SwiftData, and (if iCloud is enabled) sync through your private iCloud (CloudKit private database). This data resides in your iCloud account; we have no access to it.
- Your settings. Preferences such as the chosen voice, language, speed, and onboarding state are stored locally on your device.
What ProsoEcho does NOT do
- We do not collect, receive, or have access to any of your recordings, text, or usage data.
- The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs, and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- The app performs no speech recognition and sends no audio or text to any server.
- The app makes no network calls of its own; the only network use is Apple’s iCloud sync, which you control.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Microphone
The microphone is used solely to record your own voice for the listen-record-compare practice loop, and only while you are recording. iOS asks your permission before the microphone is first used; you can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
Personal Voice (optional)
If you have set up Apple Personal Voice on your device, you can choose to use it as the playback voice. This is off by default and uses Apple’s own system consent. ProsoEcho does not transmit or store voice models.
iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud enabled for ProsoEcho, your recordings and content sync across your Apple devices through your own private iCloud. This storage is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and Apple’s Privacy Policy. We cannot see or retrieve anything in your iCloud.
Your control over your data
- You can delete individual recordings and content inside the app at any time.
- Turning off iCloud for ProsoEcho stops syncing; removing the app removes its on-device data.
- To remove synced data, delete it in the app while signed in to iCloud, or manage ProsoEcho’s data in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Because we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf and no account to close.
Children
ProsoEcho is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
